Anti Wrinkle Treatments

There are a wide range of treatment options available in the UK for someone looking to improve aging and wrinkled skin. With the variety of options and sometimes conflicting information available, it is very hard for anyone to know which treatment is right for them. Below we try to explain and show a quick run-through of the options available at Inner Indulgence.

It's impossible to know what is right for you without a consultation with one of our doctors or nurses, but this list is meant to give you a rough outline of some of the options:

What is BOTOX® and DYSPORT™?

BOTOX® is a purified protein produced by the Clostridium botulinum bacterium, which reduces the activity of the muscles that cause those frown lines between the brows to form over time.

DYSPORT™ is an acetylcholine release inhibitor and a neuromuscular blocking agent.

How does it work?

BOTOX® and DYSPORT™ targets nerves that are connected to muscle. It blocks the chemical communication between the nerves and the muscle. Each treatment is performed by injecting with a very fine needle into the specific muscle. Immediately after the treatment you may resume regular activities.

What results are expected?

BOTOX® and DYSPORT™ can be used to combat crow’s feet, frown and forehead lines. A series of tiny injections are administered directly into the area and effects are experienced after approximately 48 hours and for a period of 4-6 months. (The full effects may take 1-2 weeks to develop).

Does the treatment hurt?

The treatment can cause some minor discomfort, but since the needle is so fine this is usually minimal. Some redness may also appear on the treated area, but that will disappear in an hour or so.

What are the side effects?

The most common side effects include headache, respiratory infection, flu syndrome, temporary eyelid droop, and nausea. Less frequently occurring (<3%) adverse reactions include pain in the face, erythema at the injection site, and muscle weakness. These events are thought to be associated with the injection and occurred within the first week.

How long does the treatment take?

An initial consultation may take up to 30 minutes, then 15-30 minutes for the treatment itself, depending on the area to be treated.

How much does the treatment cost?

Prices start from £190 for 1 area.
